Unique Garden

Tell me about your shop. What will I find there?

I have 3 shops. uniquegarden.etsy.com has natural bath and body products, all but one of which is Vegan. I mainly use therapeutic grade essential oils, but even when I use fragrance oils, they are entirely natural, botanical or vegetable, and from renewable sources. I don't use chemicals, artificial preservatives, petroleum or oil refinery products. I still grow all the herbs & flowers used in my recipes myself, or I snag them from my friends' gardens.

uniquexpression.etsy.com is where I sell my one of a kind jewelry pieces, costume jewelry pieces, ornaments, wreaths, scrap book pages, bird houses, and various other crafts.

My all natural dog treats and spa products are at uniquetreatdogbones.etsy.com. I never use any sugar or artificial preservatives. I use organic peanut butter and all natural and fresh, human grade ingredients. All my treats are taste tested and certified paw-licking good by Dallas, Lucky & Gizmo.

How long have you been in business?

While I have been making and selling crafts at shows for about 35 years, I didn't start making my bath and body line until ten years ago.As for the jewelry, I have been making and selling it since I was twelve years old, but started using the uniqueXpression logo about eleven years ago. The dog treats are new for me. I only began making them last year.

Where do you sell your creations? Please

Aside from my Etsy shops, I sell at some local places, such as The Cutting Edge and Linda's Barn. Additionally, each holiday season I am fortunate to have been accepted to offer my crafts on consignment to the Christmas at the Cabin, where Artisans from many states sell unique and varied crafts in a quaint old log cabin. It is listed in the Ohio visitor guide and is a very cool place to visit and shop. As for on line, You will find some of my products on consignment with TrendyShoppes.com when they open the end of this month. And I am currently setting up an Unique Garden Trunkt shop too.

Do you have a blog or web-site?

While I maintain my domain, I have removed my items from uniquegardenessences.com so that I can focus my efforts on my etsy shops. I may reopen it a few months down the road, but for now it's Etsy and my consignment places.

I do have a blog. uniquegardenessences.blogspot.com. My blog is about aromatherapy, essential oils, and herbal treatments. I have also listed many recipes for skin care that you can whip up in your own kitchen! My hope is that it will provide a foundation with which others can build a love affair of their own with natural, holistic, health and skin care.

Who is your favorite crafts person/artisan or favorite web resource ?

While I see some of the same people at different shows, and we say hello as we set up or talk when we are slow, I really don't KNOW any other craftsmen.
As for fav
orite web source, that would have to be the online version of the early 1900 book, a Modern Herbal at botanical.com/botanical/mgmh/mgmh.html . This is so very interesting to me & having it online is very convenient.

Are there any upcoming craft fairs/art shows that you’ll be participating in this year?

After many shows over the many years, I have now cut back to only three shows a year. I do the spring show at Chattfield College and I do a Christmas time show, usually at my local school. I also, as previously mentioned, have my ornaments and other crafts at the Christmas at the Cabin. We consider this to be a two and a half month long show.
