Pretty Little Love Objects by blinking mouse

Tell me about your shop. What will I find there?

I make jewelry that I like to label as love objects or love tokens. What I mean is jewelry that you either plan to give to someone as a gesture of love or that you buy for yourself because you deserve a treat. These are pieces that you will love to wear to special occasions and in everyday life. You come to associate the item you buy with memories throughout your life and as it acts as a memory trigger you come to love the piece you buy more and more. Love Objects can range from simple necklaces, like the famous 'Carrie' necklace from Sex and the City, to opulent earrings or rings. They should be pieces you want to stroke and play with all day and they should be able to stand up to this kind of treatment.

My current range of 'Pretty Little Love Objects' consists of a large range of earrings, necklaces and bracelets. My favorite materials to work with are glass beads, crystals and random buttons taken from my button jar (which used to hold chocolate buttons and still has a faint whiff of chocolate). I also sell cards so that you can send some love in the post and luxury bookmarks to enhance your reading experience. I'm looking into expanding my product line at the moment and there are currently some belt designs in the works.

How long have you been in business?

I've been seriously working on 'Pretty Little Love Object' for about a year now so I'm fairly new. Every day is a full of something new to learn about marketing, photography, crafting and customer service.

Where do you sell your creations? Please provide link to your online shops.

At the moment I sell on Etsy. I have a Silkfair shop in the wings, which I hope to start listing at by November.

Do you have a blog or web-site?

Yes,it's called: "Pretty Little Love Objects". I firmly believe that every crafter needs a blog, with their Etsy mini and shop link in a prominent place. The extra search engine hits make it massively worthwhile, as it creates another little bit of awareness about your shop. It's also great for forming links with other crafters. can be found at .

Who is your favorite crafts person/artisan or favorite web resource? Please provide a link to their shop or blog/website.

I absolutely love Craftster. It's a really professional site, run in a fun way and approachable way. The moderators don't tolerate the kind of selling related spam that can easily kill a craft forum yet they allow crafters plenty of non annoying ways to advertise their own personal projects. It's really exciting that the moderators have now started taking part in really in depth interviews to instruct eager crafters, Leah is just a superwoman.
