Progress Report...

Hello All:

I'm back from vacation and back at work. Full of good intentions I had a list of things I wanted to accomplish while on vacation because I knew there would be these great moments of downtime and I would have all the time the time in the world to attend to the areas in my life that have been neglected - it was going to be lovely.

Well...here's where reality comes in and shatters my little fantasy of living the life of an artiste/gardener/domestic goddess and hostess extraordinaire. In short, it was the vacation from HELL. OK...that might be a bit of an overstatement but there were moments where all I wanted to do was find a new life. During my first week of vacation I got sick, had back spasms, broke out in a rash/staph infection and the transmission in my car went out when I let my sister-in-law borrow the car for an outing so that I could stay home and do nothing. I stopped asking what else could go wrong when the transmission in my husband's car went out the following week. I've decided that ignorance is bliss and I don't always need to know what else could go wrong.

Needless to say I'm happy being back at work, back to the a somewhat familiar routine and I appreciate all the things in my life that are going as they should or better than expected. I really enjoyed having my sister-in-law and her family stay with us for 2 weeks, that I'm slowly making order out of chaos at my desk, that I have the money to repair our cars, that I still have a job during this economic crisis and most importantly, I have my health, my family and happiness.

So...I'm making list of things I want to accomplish before the end of the year:

1. List more jewelry in my Etsy shop.

2. Find a couple of craft/art shows.

3. Sell at the Fremont Sunday Market with my friend Sandra.

4. Create some more jewelry.

5. Learn how to make soldered pendants - theoretically - I can do this now but they don't look so good.

6. Make soldered pendants using the photographs I've taken.

7. Make some money selling my jewelry.

8. Re-organize my workspace.

9. Work on improving the photographing my jewelry.

10. Keep up with my blogs.

I think that's enough to keep me busy and out of trouble. So, let's see just how successful I am in accomplishing these tasks.

I'll keep you posted.
